Hello.

Haven't been able to download new OSM map layers for a while now, even though I use APRSIC32 offline, only in the radio version, in conjunction with a TNC. Sometimes I need to download maps. Not to mention a fresh install, then it's a disaster without maps. I'm curious what the cause is? I don't know yet. Probably access to the map server.

Robert

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Map is not loaded

Hi,

I am a new aprsis32 user. After installed the aprsis32, the map is not loaded. I found some new users have also the same issue. Some people luckily have previous data so they can copy them into the new installed windows. How about the first time aprsis32 user?
Some threads mentioning about GeoFabrik, it might be a solution I will be trying. Do someone have successful experience about it?

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Map is not loaded

Does any have any guides on how to properly set up a Text port. I'm not exactly sure what it's for. I'm assume you can push text packets to to ingested into the digipeater. I would like to experiment, but not sure exactly how it works.
This site has done a good job of showing me how much the paradigm of marrying a computer to a TNC & radio has advanced since I started using UI-View.

I have a copy installed, call sign set, objects defined, all kinds of neat stuff ready for prime time except that nothing is heard over the air and the TNC isn't telling the radio to send stuff. I can send a copy of my configs, though if anyone else is using the non-plus KPC-3 successfully, I'd really appreciate hearing how your installation of APRS-IS is set up to run with it.

Thanks very much.

-ted
K3RTA

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Old KPC-3 (no plus) with v8.2, can't connect

Got the Kantronix 3+ and been trying to get all this to work. Yours is the 3rd app I have tried. I see data coming out of the TNC in the log. But I never see anything get forwarded to the APRS-IS services. Running simple Kiss. The local map does not display the received client either. Other apps would display the received devices on the screen (this does not) but none of them have wanted to forward to -IS. Total Noob here with this system. Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

Thanks

Log looks like this..
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.820 CpReader Running on COM3:9600,N,8,1 (1 OpenCmds, 1 CloseCmds)
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.820 Opening COM3:9600,N,8,1
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.820 Opening COM3 with 4 Args
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:Packet Length 64 Version 2
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:ServiceMask 0x1 Reserved1 0x0
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:MaxQueue Tx 0 Rx 0 Baud 268435456
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:Provider SubType 1 Capabilities 0xFF
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:Settable Params 127 Baud 0x10066B70 Data 0xC StopParity 0x1F05
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:Current Queue Tx 0 Rx 4096
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.835 COM3:Provider Specifics 0x0 0x0
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.836 CpOpen:Port COM3 9600,N,8,1 !CTSFlow !DSRFlow !OutXon(2048) !InXoff(512) DTR_ENABLE !DSRSense RTS_ENABLE
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.836 Opened COM3:9600,N,8,1, Flushing 0 in TransmitQueue, Sending 1 OpenCmds
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:22.836 Command[1]:~
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:54:24.058 Sent[84]:<C0 00 82 A0 AE AE>bb<E0 82 92>j<9C 9E>@`<AE 92 88 8A>b@b<AE 92 88 8A>d@c<03 F0>@145423h3249.59N/09708.81WlPHG/000APRS-IS for Win32<C0>
Port(Kantronix):2024-11-09T14:55:09.347 KISS:Missing 0, no C0[49]:AI5NO-7>DCEY6P,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1:`}`ml"!YY`"5{}_3<0D 0D>

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Frustrating!

In my area I have another digipeater nearby but I don't believe it is also an I-Gate. When I transmit my beacon ( KF0KFL-1 ) and weather station ( KF0KFL-13) . If possible, I would like to delay my IS transmission by maybe 30 seconds or so to see if it will be gated by another station. I don't want to completely disable my outputs to IS because my transmissions don't always get picked up and digipeated and gated.

Thanks in advance!
- John KF0KFL

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Delay of transmission to IS

I am new to the APRSIS program so I am sure that there's something I am doing wrong here. When I enter my information, the program turns into a half inch tall white box across my screen. It looks like maybe it's a narrow slice out of the program screen. Nothing I do can make it change. I have to stop the program in task manager to get it to stop.

What am I doing wrong?

Steve, W6SM

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Trouble Installing APRSIS

I've a similar question. What do all the colours mean in the Scroller? My callsign is highlighted in yellow, I think the callsign being tracked highlights in red, but I can see green callsigns, yellow callsigns, brown callsigns, and they change colour when you move the crosshairs over the map. I can't see a key to how it works so I'd be grateful of an easy explanation please.

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Red callsign

When I go to Configure - Ports - MyNewPort - I see the Inherit box is checked but greyed out and there is no entry in MyCall-ssid box. Is this normal? I specified this information when I first started the software and I see the information when I go to Configure - General. Wondering if this is normal as my TinyTrak4 lights flash when I hear APRS traffic on my Yeasu FT857d radio but nothing is getting gated into the internet when I Transmit and the radio is not keying up. Wondering about the software side. I realize this is not a Yeasu forum. Thanks. Great software. I have used it years ago and am trying to resurect it on a new PC.

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: Ports

Please double-check what options you have enabled on your APRS-IS and RF ports. I suspect you at least do not have messages enabled on the APRS-IS port because I didn't get any response to my status queries to your KD1ELK-10 station, which I assume is your intended IGate?

Have you confirmed that APRSISCE/32 can actually transmit on your RF? If it won't transmit, then the -IS to RF gating will obviously not work. You might want to check http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/doc:transmitting

Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: IS to RF not working

I am using APRSIS32, FT2DR, an Arrow II Yagi 20 feet up, and TNC3 by Mobilinkd. Everything appears to be working except IS to RF, via the log it shows a ton of RF to IS being gated, and the radio has also transmitted when functioning as a digi repeater as well as my beacons so it isn't a hardware issue. Xmit is checked, Internet and aprs-is is enabled. RF to IS and IS to RF is also checked.

After a few days it has yet to RF a single item from the IS side. I would love to run a 2 way i gate as we have plenty of rx only in the area already.

I have also tested it myself with a HT on less than one watt of power, I get gated, but no acknowledgement and my own setup wont tx messages to me.

Any help would be appreciated!

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: IS to RF not working

I am new to this APRSIS stuff. I am on a ridge Line with no neighbors in site. There are two stacked m2 loop at about 40 feet AGL that need a job here.
So I have the program running; the Map is filling up with station. Some are RF as I am using my EME and Sat radios and a couple of "Dongles" too, to feed "Ports" from UISS, AGWPE into your nifty APRSIS program.

Now I need a really decent APRS, or whatever it's called, rig so I can unburden the other two systems, and their SPID rotators …. bit of an overkill.

What do you guys see as a decent rig that my Windoze-10 system can work with here?

Thanks for listening ..

KD7YZ Bob EM88LL

Forum category: APRSISCE/32 Discussion / General APRSIS
Forum thread: What's a decent, new, 2m/70cm Base Station rig?
